A rash occurs usually when the skin is going through an abnormal phase which causes the color and the texture of the skin to change dramatically. Rashes can occur due to inflammation of the skin. Rashes typically appear as red, scaly, itchy and/or dry surfaces of the skin. Rashes can be caused by a variety of methods including cellulitis, lichen planus, lupus, pityriasis rosea, allergies, poor hygiene, friction and anxiety.

Some rashes come and go, while others remain indefinitely. With conditions like psoriasis, it’s not uncommon for individuals to have rashes appear and vanish regularly.
